Media Accreditation
Dear Media Representative,
The CBAt / Rio 2016 teams would like to inform you that your media accreditation for the Caixa Ibero-American Championships in Athletics 2016 has been approved.
You will find below useful information regarding Accreditation, Visa Process, Accommodation, Parking and facilities and services available during the event.
1. Accreditation
Media representatives whose accreditation application has been approved by the Brazilian Athletics Confederation (CBAt) will be able to collect their accreditation for the event at the Olympic Stadium - North Gate (Rua das Oficinas) - Media Entrance - upon presentation of a valid identification document.
Media accreditations can be collected within the following periods:
- 13/05/2016, from 9h00 to 18h00;
- 14/05/2016, from 8h00 to 19h00;
- 15/05/2016, from 8h00 to 19h00;
- 16/05/2016, from 8h00 to 16h00.
The identification documents accepted for the withdrawal of the media accreditation are: Media / Press Organization Card with photo, Registro Geral (RG) for Brazilian Nationals, Identity Card for Mercosul nationals, Passport for all other nationalities.
Our staff will check if the identification document matches with the information and documents used to apply for the accreditation.
No accreditations will be granted without the presentation of the identification documents indicated above.
2. Visa
The list of countries that require a visa to enter Brazil (page 27) and instructions on how to apply (page 15) are available on Rio 2016 Visa and Work Permit Guide.
The Brazilian Athletics Confederation will prepare invitation letters for media representatives that require visa to enter Brazil
3. Accommodation

A limited number of rooms with a special rate are available for media representatives that make their reservations until 6 May 2016. Name, passport number and date of birth will be required for reservation purposes.

4. Parking
A limited number of parking places for accredited media representatives will be available close to the Olympic Stadium. If you require parking, please contact our team (see contact details below).
5. Venue Media Center
The Venue Media Centre (VMC) will be open according to the following timetable:
- 13/05/2016, from 9h00 to 18h00 (training);
- 14/05/2016, from 8h00 to 23h30 (competition);
- 15/05/2016, from 8h00 to 22h30 (competition);
- 16/05/2016, from 8h00 to 19h30 (competition).
The Venue Media Centre will offer working positions equipped with internet (wifi and/or cabled) and power outlets. Other services are also available including a help desk, lockers and a coffee corner.
6. Press Tribune
The Press Tribune will be located on the first floor of the venue and offers working positions with a view to the field of play.
7. Mixed Zone
There will be a mixed zone allowing media representatives to interview the athletes as they leave the field of play.
8. Press Conference Room
The press conference room is located next to the Venue Media Centre. Press conferences with the medalists of each event will take place whenever required.
9. Photo Positions
Photo positions will be available around the first row of seats in the seating bowl and in platforms placed in the moat that is located around the track.
